It gives us great pleasure to share our newly released 2026 Safrea Rates Report and its accompanying Summary Report with you.
The results of this sixth edition of the survey draw on responses from more than 400 freelancers working in our media and communications industry, and provide valuable insights into present-day rates, professional practices, and the realities facing freelancers in today’s difficult economic climate.
The report not only indicates the versatility of our industry, but also some of the issues that remain, despite our resilience of freelancers. It points out the challenges around sustainability and pricing, as well as the value of our professional knowledge and skills as freelancers.
We hope you will find the report helpful as a benchmarking resource, as a basis for client discussions, and as a broader indication of trends within the freelance media and communications field.
